Motivo is a music practice app by Vincent Yeung. This Privacy Policy explains how Motivo collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Motivo Android app, website, cloud features, and sharing features.

1. Summary
Motivo is designed to work locally first. You can create, edit, and play practice programs on your device without creating an account.
If you choose to create an account, publish a practice program, use cloud library features, import shared programs, or use premium features, Motivo may process the information needed to provide those features.
2. Information We Collect
Local practice data
When you use Motivo without an account, your practice programs are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, publish, or sync them.
Local practice program data may include:
- Program title
- Description
- Instrument
- Level
- Tags
- Practice steps
- Tempo settings
- Beat counts
- Drone notes
- Other practice-program settings
Account information
If you create an account, we may collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Login provider, such as email, Google, or Apple
- Account creation and update timestamps
Cloud library and publishing data
If you save programs to your cloud library or publish a program, we may store:
- Practice program content
- Program metadata
- Visibility setting: private, unlisted, or public
- Share slug or share link
- Program version history
- Import records
- Publishing, update, and deletion timestamps
Public and unlisted programs may be previewed or imported by other users according to their visibility settings. Private programs are intended to be accessible only by the owner.
Billing and premium entitlement data
If you purchase premium features, payment is handled by Google Play or the relevant app store. Motivo does not receive your full payment card details.
We may store subscription or entitlement information such as:
- Platform, such as Android or iOS
- Product ID
- Entitlement status
- Expiry date
- Purchase verification reference or token
Technical and support data
We may collect limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as:
- App version
- Device platform
- Server logs
- Error logs
- IP address
- Approximate request time
- Support messages you send to us
If crash reporting or analytics tools are added, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe them.
3. Information We Do Not Collect by Default
Motivo does not collect audio recordings by default.
Motivo does not collect your payment card number.
Motivo does not sell your personal information.
Motivo does not show third-party advertising in V1.
If future versions add microphone recording, audio analysis, advertising, classroom features, or advanced analytics, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those features are introduced.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide local and cloud practice-program features
- Let users publish, preview, share, and import practice programs
- Maintain user accounts
- Verify premium entitlement
- Enforce free and premium limits

5. Sharing of Information

Published public or unlisted programs may be visible to other users according to the visibility setting selected by the owner.

6. Data Retention
Local data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
Cloud account data and cloud programs are kept while your account is active, unless you delete them or request account deletion.
Published programs may remain accessible while they are active. Deleted or archived programs may be retained for a limited period in backups, logs, or audit records.
We may retain limited records when necessary for security, abuse prevention, billing verification, legal compliance, or dispute handling.
7. Account Deletion and Data Deletion
If you create a Motivo account, you can request deletion of your account and associated data.

After receiving a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize account data that is no longer needed, subject to legal, security, billing, and backup-retention requirements.
8. Your Choices
You can:
- Use Motivo locally without creating an account
- Choose whether to publish a program
- Choose program visibility where available
- Delete local programs from your device
- Delete or archive cloud programs
- Request account deletion
- Choose not to purchase premium features
9. Children
Motivo is not designed for unsupervised use by children under 13. If a teacher, parent, or guardian uses Motivo with a child, they are responsible for ensuring appropriate consent and supervision.

10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data, including HTTPS for network communication and access controls for account-based data.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
