Vincent Yeung is a Hong Kong violist currently pursuing an MA in Music Performance at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where he studies with Lawrence Power. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University. He began learning the violin at thirteen before switching to the viola four years later, studying primarily under Dr. Felix Ungar.
Vincent has participated in the Ljubljana Festival and Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, where he received masterclasses from Hartmut Rohde and Barbora Hilpo. He has received additional guidance through individual lessons with Anna Krimm and Yu Sun, and has participated in masterclasses with Born Lau, Irene Lachner, Min-Jeong Koh, Juan-Miguel Hernandez, and Aurélie Entringer.
As an ensemble musician, Vincent has served as concertmaster of the Northwest New Territories Symphony Orchestra and principal violist of the Hong Kong Baptist University Orchestra and Collegium Musicum Hong Kong. He has also performed with Opera Hong Kong Orchestra, Greater Bay Area Philharmonic Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Orchestra, Hong Kong City Philharmonic, and Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong, collaborating with artists including Maria Włoszczowska, Andrew von Oeyen, Bart van Oort, and Colleen Lee.
Chamber music remains central to his artistic work. Recent projects include an international public performance of a Brahms string quintet with Professor Anna Gebert and the Hong Kong premiere of an arrangement of Viet Cuong's "Next Week's Trees", performed with members of the Colin Currie Quartet and Toolbox Percussion.
